The Seventh Shenzhen Copyright Gold Award Ceremony Ended with Perfect Success
The Seventh Shenzhen Copyright Gold Award Ceremony took place at Artron Art Center on December 27, 2018. The event was cosponsored by Shenzhen Copyright Society, Shenzhen Press Group, Shenzhen Media Group and Shenzhen News Network. It set a total of 28 awards in six categories, including the “Works Award”, the “Application Award”, the “Protection Award”, the “Excellent Copyright Manager Award”, the “Annual Copyright Registration Leader Award” and the “Annual Emerging Enterprise Awards in Copyright Industry”.
The award-winning products this time include many products that have created Guinness world records. In particular, Alpha 1S, an award-winning intelligent robot designed by Ubtech Robotics Corp., has become highly popular among domestic and foreign consumers after launch. In addition to flexible and robust motion performance, the robot also provides singing, dancing, kung fu play, story telling, football play, user motion editing and other functions, and represents an important works that has promoted human-like intelligent robots to serve numerous households. The robot made a debut in the trailer produced by China Central Television for the G20 Summit in August 2016, saying the voice of China to the entire world. In addition, a total of 1,372 Alpha 1 robots danced together in Italy in February 2018, thereby creating a Guinness World Record. Counting on scientific and technical innovation, Shenzhen has driven the development of China’s intelligent robot sector, set an example to domestic peers and also played an important role in promoting the development of China’s high-technology industries and construction of an innovation-driven country.
Film and TV works completed furiously. The final winners include Poetic China from Shenzhen Media Group, Boonie Bears: The Big Shrink from FANTAWILD, the first season of Growing Up from Shenzhen Daily Growth Film & TV Co., Ltd., Happy Little Submarine 20000 Leagues under the Sea from Shenzhen Global Digital Film, Television and Culture Co., Ltd., Ori-Princess Animation Series (Seasons 1, 2 and 3) from Puzzle Animation Studio Ltd., Zombies Cat from Momeng Animation Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. and Monkey Magic from Shenzhen Mitan Animation Co., Ltd.
In detail, Poetic China, as an emerging cultural program, takes root in modern life, traces cultural sources, fuses traditional cultural knowledge into questions and answers, and invites Chinese to understand the essences of Chinese civilization again with diverse forms of interaction and intuitive interpretation methods. At the same time, Poetic China also introduces the program design of clue reasoning to questions and answers, and sets hierarchical suspensions with traditional cultural knowledge at the reasoning link. The program develops suspensions and reasoning in alternation through interesting questions, traces every Chinese cultural theme step by step and guides the audience to follow the pace and get immersed in the treasure of Chinese cultures.
The animation film Boonie Bears: The Big Shrink went on the air during the Spring Festival of 2018 and has ranked the second among Chinese animation films with a high ticket office of RMB605 million. The film upholds the brand concept of “environmental protection, nature, health and happiness” and fuses thought, art and enjoyment. The film reflects the positive themes of mutual assistance, friendship, perseverance and march ahead through adventurous and interesting micro journeys, calls for attention to children’s growth and emotional themes like paternal love and accompaniment through the stories about the paternal love between Logger Vick and his father, and communicates the theme of environmental protection by telling the story about a river course that is polluted. At the same time, the film has gone on the air at theaters in Cambodia, Laos and other countries and the company has signed a broadcast agreement with more than ten countries and regions, including South Korea, Turkey, India and the Middle East. The works has highlighted its brand value and led Chinese animation to go global.
Ori-Princess, an original intellectual property animation from Puzzle Animation Studio Ltd., has reaped numerous awards in the industry at home and abroad with its innovative Chinese style and high professional level. So far, it has recorded an outstanding result of more than 2 billion clicks on mainstream video websites and become one of the most popular animation films.
Monkey Magic, a 3D film for all family members with the background of the Journey to the West, ranked the seventh among all Chinese animation films in 2018. Until November 7, 2018, the film has realized a total ticket office of RMB35,728,100 (excluding Internet copyright income and overseas publishing income). While respecting the original, the film fuses popular trace and entertainment elements to build an all-new world of the Journey to the West. Moreover, the producer has applied the independent top-ranking 3D production technologies, redefined the visual experience of Chinese animation and harvested high awareness and favorite in the Chinese film market.
Values of copyright are reflected by licensing and application. The Application Award of the Sixth Shenzhen Copyright Gold Award aims to award those individuals, enterprises and nonprofit organizations that have actively utilized copyright resources, taken every possible measure to promote the publishing and communication of works, realize market values of works and forge an industrial chain of copyright, and created great social and economic benefits. The winners of the award include the Eagle Boy 2 from Shenzhen Global Digital Film, Television and Culture Co., Ltd., Boonie Bears: The Adventurers from FANTAWILD, “One Shenzhen” News Client from Shenzhen Media Group, Zombies Cat from Momeng Animation Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. and “Artebuy.com” from Artron Art Group.
Protecting copyrights is to protect culture, protect creativity and assure the prosperity of the nation. The Shenzhen Copyright Gold Award has set the Copyright Award to award those organizations that have made outstanding contributions to exploring new ways to resolve problems existing in copyright protection, firmly combating infringement and piracy, securing the healthy development of the copyright market, regulating the market economy and order and promoting the develop of the copyright industry. The protection award was granted to three intellectual property right specialists, including the Intellectual Property Right Trial Court of the People’s Court of Nanshan District, Shenzhen Municipality, the Intellectual Property Right Trial Court of the People’s Court of Futian District, Shenzhen Municipality, and the Intellectual Property Right Section of Bao’an Bureau of Shenzhen Market Supervision Administration, which deserved the award.
In addition, the Excellent Copyright Manager Award was conferred to five copyright veterans, including Shang Linlin from FANTAWILD, Wu Jing from Shenzhen Media Group, Lin Sikai from Artron Art Group, Feng Yaobang from Shenzhen Skyworth-RGB Electronic Coolpad Co., Ltd. and Zhang Na from Coolpad Co., Ltd. The award is designed to highlight the importance of cultivating copyright application and protection professionals. In addition, the award is intended to acknowledge and encourage those enterprises and persons that have long paid attention to copyright protection and application. The award is expected to play a positive role in establishment of copyright protection, administration system and other aspects.
The “Annual Copyright Registration Leader Award” and the “Annual Emerging Enterprise in Copyright Industry” include a total of five awards that praise and encourage the representatives that have done an excellent job in these areas.
The award ceremony attracted much attention from the Copyright Management Department of the National Copyright Administration and Guangdong Copyright Office, and was attended by nearly 200 persons, including Xu Wei from the Social Service Section of the Copyright Management Department of the National Copyright Administration, Secretary-General Zhang Qinkun from the Internet Copyright Industry Research Base of the National Copyright Administration, Deputy Director Si Xiao from the National Internet Copyright Industry Research Base, Secretary-General Qin Bo from the Artwork Copyright Working Committee of Copyright Society of China, Section Chief Yuan Xindi from the Copyright Management Section of Guangdong Copyright Office; major leaders from Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Macau Youth Music Promotion Association, Macau Cultural Creative Industry Association, Huayi Brothers Media Group Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Cultural Research Center and Nanshan Intellectual Property Right Protection Center; representatives from the judicial circle, creative and cultural industry in Shenzhen and the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and the members of Shenzhen Copyright Society.
